What to do with your children in Tangier

Posted 13 February 2020

Tangier is known for its picturesque district, the kasbah and medina, Cape Spartel and the Rmilat forest, its corniche and bars, and its hiking trails. Activities that delight the grown-ups, but what to do with your children in Tangier ?

The Tangier Medina is large, punctuated by squares such as the Petit Socco, and your children will love to run through its alleys, meet people all smiling and exchange with them.

On a rainy afternoon, take refuge at the Tangier Cinematheque (also called Cinema RIF), whose building dates back to 1948. You can attend the screening of a cinema classic or a film d’auteur. The Café Les Fils du Détroit is also from 5pm an unusual address where you can sip tea while enjoying the Arab-Andalusian music.

If you want to get away from the city, many welcoming beaches are accessible to you in less than an hour from Tangier: Achakar for swimming in the Atlantic, Playa Blanca if you prefer the Mediterranean, or Briech, near Asilah, for those who prefer a deckchair and sunbathing. Youssef (at Yousurf’s) will serve you a tagine or grilled sardines in his restaurant facing the sea.

Take advantage of a beach outing to introduce your children to surfing or bodyboarding. The Sook Surf school offers discovery sessions every morning depending on the weather.
For more personalised activities, consult the reception desk of our establishment which will advise you on addresses and things to do with your children in Tangier according to your tastes and desires.
